Item The Influence of Emerging Risks from the Implementation of Artificial Intelligence on Project Management(The British University in Dubai (BUiD), 2022-04) HAQIQI, MARAM MASOUDPurpose: This research aims to identify the emerging risks of the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in project management. It will contribute to literature, through understanding the risks associated with the usage of artificial intelligence in project management based on the perception of users from different specializations. This research will focus on explaining the four main risk categories, namely legal, administrative, technical and cultural risks, that are related to the usage of artificial intelligence in project management. Methodology: A quantitative research method was employed to collect necessary data related to the usage of artificial intelligence in project management, through the distribution of an online questionnaire. The online questionnaire increased the likelihood of a higher number of responses; increased the speed of collecting responses; and enabled the inclusion of necessary and required questions sufficient to gather suitable data. The questionnaire was divided into two sections, the first helped in understanding the participants’ background, and the second section was an assessment of the influence of the emerging risks of the implementation of artificial intelligence on project management. The results from the questionnaire were analyzed using the One-Way ANOVA approach in SPSS software. Findings: The responses show that participants from different specializations had different concerns about two factors from the technical category which are “the need of several experiments and trials” and “unintentional mistakes in added inputs”. From the administrative category, responses show that participants from different specializations had different concerns about the factor “high cost”. Also, responses show that participants from different specializations had different concerns about “inequitable progress as a result of differing perceptions of AI responsibilities and tasks” from the cultural category. In addition, responses show that participants from different specializations had different concerns about one factor from the legal category, namely “data collection regulations”. Value: This research identified the links between the usage of artificial intelligence models in project management. It categorized the risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence and studied their impact and influence on project management. The research helped in developing a better understanding of how to minimize the impact of the identified risks on project management, to ensure delivering outcomes successfully. It also explained the perception of users from different specializations on the application of project management.
